Piet Menu (Roesbrugge, 1977) is artistic director of Het Zuidelijk Toneel. Nearly his entire carrier he worked as a Belgian in the Netherlands (for amongst others Vlaams Cultuurhuis De Brakke Grond, Festival Cement, het Huis van Bourgondië). This means he is able to cross borders. With HZT he works with people from The Netherlands and Belgium, from the theatre scene and beyond. Piet believes in variegation. Because of the many creators HZT presents, it reaches out to many audiences. It’s possible to collaborate with multiple social partners. An interaction between all these groups of people are made possible. This way the creations appear in the world and the world in the creations.
